Before an installation of a Linux operating system can take place, decisions regarding the design and layout of hard disks need to be made. These decisions take into account a number of factors, including the physical hardware available and how the system will be used. This course discusses the factors that go into the design of a hard disk, including the partitioning and how to choose the correct bootloader.
